Criticism
The Court of Appeal judgment records that he was one of the experts instructed after, and on the advice of, Dr Evans, which post-conviction critics say makes his findings a second opinion built on the first rather than independent corroboration of it. The February 2025 International Expert Panel, reviewing the same post-mortem material, attributed the deaths it examined to natural causes or to failures of care.
