Panel member — Ulm; neonatal ventilation
German member of the International Expert Panel. The Panel's own report identifies him as a professor of neonatology who has led neonatal divisions in Ulm and Marburg and at Sidra Medicine in Qatar, with a research focus on neonatal lung injury, mechanical ventilation and reducing brain-bleed rates, and more than 150 published articles.
As a Panel member, Hummler took part in the group's conclusion that there was "no medical evidence to support malfeasance causing death or injury" in any of the 17 trial cases reviewed, with the deaths and injuries instead attributed to natural causes or errors in medical care on the unit.
