Panel member — UK neonatal medicine
UK-based member of the International Expert Panel that reviewed the medical evidence for all 17 trial counts. The Panel's own report identifies her as Professor of Neonatal Medicine at Imperial College London and a past president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, and states that her involvement was "as an individual, and not representative of any organisation or institution".
As a Panel member, Modi took part in the group's conclusion that there was "no medical evidence to support malfeasance causing death or injury" in any of the 17 cases reviewed, and that the deaths and injuries were attributable to natural causes or errors in medical care rather than to deliberate harm.
