Panel member — Canadian Neonatal Network
Canadian member of the International Expert Panel. The Panel's own report identifies him as Pediatrician-in-Chief at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, a professor at the University of Toronto, and director of the Canadian Preterm Birth Network and the international iNeo network, which benchmarks outcomes for very preterm babies across 240 neonatal units in 13 countries.
As a Panel member, Shah took part in the group's conclusion that there was "no medical evidence to support malfeasance causing death or injury" in any of the 17 trial cases reviewed, with the deaths and injuries instead attributed to natural causes or errors in medical care on the unit.
