Panel member — Karolinska
Swedish member of the International Expert Panel. The Panel's own report identifies him as professor of paediatrics and neonatal medicine at the Karolinska Institutet and director of the Swedish Neonatal Quality Register, the author of over 270 scientific papers on newborn cardiovascular physiology, preterm-birth outcomes and patient safety.
As a Panel member, Norman took part in the group's conclusion that there was "no medical evidence to support malfeasance causing death or injury" in any of the 17 trial cases reviewed, with the deaths and injuries instead attributed to natural causes or errors in medical care on the unit.
