CCRC head of investigations steps down from the Letby review

The CCRC's head of investigations, Shaun Edwards, will play no further part in the Letby review after The Sun revealed he had publicly praised the Cheshire Police detective who led Operation Hummingbird ('very well deserved') at an awards ceremony months after the second trial. A CCRC spokesman said that 'in the interests of transparency' he would play no further part in the case.
